Description
The oldest monasteries in the world are in Egypt. We can see two of them in Saffron Desert on the way to Cairo. You only need 3 hours to get there. Antonios Monastery is the oldest monastery in the world. It was built in the first century AD, since we can see its cave in the mountain on the Red Sea about 800 meters high. We have to go up about 1200 steps to reach the cave. We have a really nice view. We see mirage and the Red Sea. The monastery is still in operation today, where the monks live and rely on nature. We experience there how we live today like Antonios and Paulus. We see the mills, natural water sources, grape fields and date palms. We have lunch there. And let's go back to Hurghada.
