The Coptic Quarter is a high quality area in Cairo. You can feel the traces of Jesus and Mary. Jesus and the young woman Maria lived on the Nile when fleeing here in Egypt. There we have the chance to see the Coptic Orthodox Church of Abu Serga, the hanging church, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue (the Jewish temple). Also the oldest mosque in Africa Amr Eben Elas mosque was built on this area on the Nile. Afterwards we drive to the inhabited cemetery in Cairo. Find out more about the country and people in Cairo. Experience how thousands of poor people live in the cemetery (Mameluk Cemetery). See the mausoleum and Quran schools established in the 15th century. It is really interesting to see. You also have a tour of the monastery of St. Simon, cave churches in Mukatam mountain. The monastery is located in the garbage collector town where the poor and rich live. It is interesting to see. The cave churches are deeply carved into rocks, seers are beautifully decorated. At the end we drive back to the hotel. The transfer back and forth is included.
