Description
The oldest monasteries in the world are in Egypt. We can see two of them in Saffron Desert on the way to Cairo. You only need 3 hours to get there. Antonios Monastery is the oldest monastery in the world. It was built in the first century AD, since we can see its cave in the mountain on the Red Sea about 800 meters high. We have to go up about 1200 steps to reach the cave. We have a really nice view. We see mirage and the Red Sea. The monastery is still in operation today, where the monks live and rely on nature. We experience there how we live today like Antonios and Paulus. We see the mills, natural water sources, grape fields and date palms. We have lunch there. And let's go to Cairo. We reach Cairo in three hours. In Cairo we spend the night in a 4-star hotel. The next day we will be picked up from the hotel by an Egyptologist around 9 a.m. And let's go towards the pyramids and visit the pyramids, sphinx and valley temple of Chefrin. We have lunch near pyramids. After lunch we drive to the Egyptian Museum. The Egyptologist explains in Egyptian Museum and shows you the golden mask of Tutankhamun and his grave goods, which are more than 3200 years old. You also have the opportunity to buy souvenirs and stroll in Khan Elkhalily-Bazar. At the end of the day we drive back to Hurghada
